Dr. Peter Johnson is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at the University of the West Indies. He completed the Drake Fellowship Neurointervention at Western University from 2014 to 2015.
His practice includes the management of acute strokes, treatment of brain aneurysms and even the management of nosebleeds. Dr. Johnson also does general radiology such as ultrasound and ultrasound-guided biopsies as well as reporting on whole-body CT and MRI imaging. He is especially gifted in head and neck management and neuroradiology. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications, including collaborations with centres in the United States and Canada. He is interested in the development of healthcare in the Caribbean through research and collaboration and through the training of radiologists as head of the DM in Radiology programme at the UWI.

Dr. Kevan Smith received his medical as well as his postgraduate degree in General Surgery from the University of the West Indies. He subsequently completed a Clinical Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Toronto in June 2018. While there, he received training in Laparoscopic Colon Surgery as well as Colonoscopy for benign and malignant conditions.
Dr. Smith offers treatment for common surgical conditions such as hernias, gallstone disease, ‘lumps and bumps’, and breast diseases. His main interests are in Colorectal disorders and screening for Colorectal Cancer. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West Indies. He is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at the Kingston Public Hospital where he has practiced since 2012.

Dr. Myrton Smith is a Consultant Otolaryngologist, Head & Neck Surgeon at the University Hospital of the West Indies and Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Smith obtained both his undergraduate and postgraduate medical degrees from the University of the West Indies in 1998 and 2005, respectively. During his training, Dr. Smith received exposure to first world Otolaryngology by working in the U.K. at the Torbay General Hospital and also working under the direct tutelage of Dr. Peter Rhys-Evans at the Royal Marsden Hospital. This was the first hospital in the world dedicated to the treatment of cancer.
Dr. Smith has also been awarded an International Visiting Scholarship by the American Association of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Foundation allowing him to do an advanced observership in Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was also part of the first group of participating physicians in the Philadelphia International Medicine Groups’ Physician Partnership Programme in 2017. This facilitated an advanced observership in the management of disorders of the larynx and trachea.
Dr. Smith does general Otolaryngology, but with his exposure, he has a special interest in endoscopic sinus and ear surgery, and management of head and neck masses.

Dr. Sibyl Surage is an Otorhinolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon. She graduated from the University of the West Indies, Mona with a DM in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in 2018. She is currently employed at the Kingston Public Hospital. As part of her postgraduate training, however, she completed an 18-month elective at the Torbay General Hospital in the UK, also providing emergency coverage and performing elective surgeries at the Royal Hospital of Devon and Exeter.
During her time in the UK, she had the privilege of attending and participating in several courses which included a Temporal Bone Dissection course in Bordeaux, France, an Endoscopic Sinus Surgery course in Bristol, UK, and a Skull Base Surgery Course in Amsterdam.
Prior to her elective period in England, she also attended a course in Temporal Bone Dissection at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She is passionate about providing surgical care to all, especially the underprivileged. She is keen to treat each patient as one of her favourite relatives. She has a special interest in plastic surgery and may pursue a fellowship in facial plastics in the near future.
Dr. Surage has a love for traveling as well as the outdoors. She is keen on physical activity and plays lawn tennis, hiking, jogging, fishing, going to the beach, exploring and spending quality time with loved ones.
